2012 Newgy/Paddle Palace Nashville Fall Table Tennis Open – Roger Dickson

16 table tennis courts greeted the 53 entries from 15 different table tennis clubs and 6 different states to the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Academy Park Gym this past weekend, October 20, 2012. It is the largest variety of clubs to come to an event in Middle Tennessee in a very long time! Another great thing was that multiple colleges sent players from their club programs to this event - UT Martin, Vanderbilt, Sewanee and TN Tech all had players in attendance and I hope this trend continues.

Even with a high number of college students, the free pizza lunch and beverages seemed to get everyone fed and we were happily surprised that we made such a good guess on the quantity. The Nashville Table Tennis Club and event organizers plan to continue this for our future events due to all the positive feedback.

Sameh Awadallah celebrated his birthday by not losing a game on his way to winning the Open Championship. Finalist Yevgeniy Puzyrev actually came back in his semi-final from down 2-1 to defeat defensive ace Leidy Handoko from Memphis 11-7 in the fifth game; it was quite a show!

Listed below are all the Class Winners and Finalists .The Nashville Table Tennis Club sends a big thank you to Paddle Palace for supplying the Nittaku Premium ping-pong® balls and banner for the event and to all those players who graciously made the trip to our event from several hours away!
