St. Peter’s Table Tennis Open – Roger Dickson

Not often have I ever played table tennis tournaments back to back weekends, but May has been back –to back –to back weekends. When former Egyptian player Sameh Adawallah moved to Nashville, getting him into the National table tennis event scene has changed my practice and event schedule dramatically!

Starting with the St. Peter’s Open near St. Louis the weekend of May 12th, the competition and travelling started! Randy and Kelly Kendle are extremely good organizers, so not only did the events start promptly, the players were treated with timely updates. The Open ran nearly straight to seeding and despite the final being 3-0 the scores really tell the story 13-11, 11-9, 11-9! The points with Sameh and Fernando were very high level, but the high quality of the recent training proved the turning point for Fernando at the end points. Lindenwood’s Frenando Yamazato is not only the 2012 National Collegiate Men’s Table Tennis Champion but now the 2012 St. Peter’s Table Tennis Open Champion.
