In table tennis, many rallies only last 2-3 hits. For this reason, I put a high importance on serve, serve return, and the first two attacks. If I can consistently attack two balls without mistakes, I’ll win the majority of short rallies.
There are several daily drills that I do with my Newgy Robo-Pong 2050 table tennis robot that are designed to work on the first 2-3 balls:
Drills #21, #22, #41, #56, #59, #64. When performing these drills, my goal is to make at least 90% of the balls on the table.
These drills are only available on the Robo-Pong 1050 and 2050. Nearly all of my 20 students are using these drills and improving at an unbelievable rate. For anyone looking to improve significantly, I would highly suggest practicing on one of these robots and using the game-situation drills listed above.
